Taipei Day IV ~ 14.09.07

Through my friend's recommendation, we decided to hire a cabby. He brought us to GuGong, YeLiu, JiuFen, NanYa, Yin Yang Hai, BiTou Cape (scenic view of the Pacific ocean but be prepared to walk alot!) and KeeLung.
His charges is reasonable at NT2500 (will be NT3000 in Oct due to petrol price increase). Highly recommended if you have a few places to cover and want to know more about Taiwan...
If you are interested to hire a cab, you can contact Mr Meeky Yang at Tel No. 09-2191-5586 to arrange.

We had to wake up at 6am to eat bfast at 7am to meet cabby at 8am!
So, Early in the morning at 9am...

We went to 國立故宮博物院

Look at the floor: caused by the constant marching (or dragging?) of their boots.

After catching the procession, we proceeded to 野柳地質公園

(According to the cabby, Taiwanese are like not afraid of the sea, sun and heatstroke! - Fancy fishing in the afternoon and on the shore which stretches out to the big sea with the big tidal waves.)
Caught a man fishing dangerously when we reached YeLiu.

女王頭

It's a hot sunny day! *perspires*

We can't find the 仙女鞋!

As we leave YeLiu for another place (think it's a few hrs later), I noticed that the "fisherman" is still around! He not hot meh???

Guess what's this below? It's BingLang! The cabby insisted that we MUST eat.
It tasted err...nooot toooo bad, but very drying on the throat.
This is the look of it after spitting out.

Fishball (varieties of it) noodles for lunch at 九份

Back to sightseeing!

YinYang Hai

Random looks

鼻頭角

After taking a wrong (seriously tedious) route, this caught my eye.

Back on track!
- View of Pacific Ocean

My berms started to get heavier and heavier...
I can't walk any further. Hey! Wait for me!

Finally! We reached our destination - the most northern point of Taipei

And I tot the walk down is gonna be easy.
NEH...My legs wobbled at my EVERY step down!

By the time we reached the bottom, I am already too hot, thirsty, weak to take pics of the 基隆港 le... Quickly got into cab and proceeded to next site.

南雅

Down the "cliff"...

Oh no...Stairs again???!!

At KeeLung

基隆夜市

The look of the 蚵仔煎 is just so very tasty.
But once put into my mouth, it's just not to my liking.
Probably because of the sauce...I still like SG style!

It's a really tiring day...But I feel that it's worth it! Economical!

Taipei Day III ~ 13.09.07

After much tedious scheduling, we decided to go to 新北投 instead of 烏來 for the hot spring.

This is the outdoor hot spring which I am searching for.
But ended up still no chance to try it out due to some reason.
I din wan to go to the indoor one as I see no point in wasting my limited resources in a bathtub or an indoor swimming pool.

Fortunately(?), we went to the 北投溫泉博物館.
At least makes it doesn't look like a wasted trip to a not-so-near place?

At the Aboriginal Museum

Proceeded to 忠孝东路 - to have a look at our so-called Orchard Road alike.

Our Lunch - The most Expensive meal we had in our Taipei stay.

After taking a roam along "Orchard Rd" (and taking 2 packs of xxx), we took a coffee break at Starbucks there.
Then we quickly rushed off to chase the sunset at Fisherman's Wharf!

This is the sun which I was chasing.
(taken in the cab journey there)

漁人碼頭!

But where is the sunset?!!! (devastated and disappointed)
Weather not too good (very cloudy and misty) by the time we reached, so my sunset view is gone! :(

Valentine's Bridge

Sunset mission failed despite the rush;
we proceeded to Old 淡水 for dinner by bus.

Our BLAND dinner at DanShui

Then we rushed off to my next misssion!
At the MTR towards 劍潭

Destination reached! - Ferris Wheel at 美麗華百樂園
Nice hor...

View from up and above

To get to this Ferris Wheel, you can take the MTR to Jiantan and then Exit on the righthand to take the Free Miramar Shuttle to Miramar Complex for the Ferris Wheel. There is shuttle bus back to Jiantan MTR too, with last bus at about 10.30pm.

~ Somehow, for some reason, someone has been unhappy?

Taipei Day II ~ 12.09.07

The hotel breakfast we took during the stay. Miserable?

Venturing to WuFenPu by ourselves.
We had to walk a loooong way in search of the Taipei Main Station.
Finally, we found it!!!

From there, we took the Train to Songshan Railway Station.
五分埔

Our Lunch
According to Suan, this is the best noodles he had for the trip.

Did some window shopping and proceeded back to hotel to put things and went to ShiLin Night Market!

Streets-food at 士林.

We queued for the 鸡扒 as well, but no chance to take pic of it...

(something totally digusting happen in the queue. There was this guy queueing right in front of me and he was gathering his breath to accumulate his phlegm (cannot stand the sound) and is all ready to turn his head behind to spit! Think he dunno I'm behind, so i think he swallowed it back on seeing me. GROSS!)

Massage!!! Finally can relax...Shiok!

And we eat. AGAIN...

~ It's all about food huh...Ya. GeTTing FaTTer liao. OH NO!!!

Taipei Day I ~ 11.09.07

It's been a long time I sit in a plane with TV! Must take pic!!!
Been travelling in budget airlines, ya see...

After "flying" for hours, we finally reached destination!

Our accomodation in Taipei.
Not too bad, though gotta walk 5 streets to get to XiMenDing.

Decided to venture into 西門町 for the 1st night.
(by the time we were ready for adventure, it's already dinnertime)

We eat...

and eat...

and...LOOK! so lucky to had "seen" them! HAHA!

then we continued to eat...in a Modern TOILET!

the lOOk of 西門町

~ someone apparently dunno what is going on...

BB...BB...BB...

As I'll be leaving on a "jetplane" next week and won't be able to celebrate BB's bday, I decided to "organise" a celebration before her actual day at the XXX Japanese Buffet Restaurant.

A Pic of Her & Me

BB's present from PB and MB
(Luckily PB managed to stall her from buying a new pouch!)
~ Pic "stolen" from you-shd-know-where

To BB:
So sorry that I am not around during your bday...
I promise I won't go travel anytime in Sept before your bday, ya?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you!

The group who made it happen.

Cant find someone in the pic?
Poor PiaoLiang is away in Bintan attending to course.

SICKening Josan is sick. Again.

Proceeded to Queenstown Club for cake-cutting.
