a gOOd DaY

Today is a good day.
Won the 1st prize and also attended a birthday celebration. It's been really quite a long time since I last attended such gatherings. I have been in the "freezer" for quite some time le... Have been trying to get used to the COLD.........

Well, anyway, nvm about the past le... This is a good start!
We arranged to go to "secret place" initially, but they are unable to take in 10pax and no reservations allowed during weekends, so we ended up in the Jerry's at Jln Kayu. Food was pretty ok, but din have my usual appetite as was having quite a headache during then (what's new, I wonder...). They also have the chilli chicken wings! But I only dared to try the tail though; it's nice (at least not too spicy till my tongue can't feel anything thereafter)!

Proceeded to MiMi's house for some pictionary game, but ended up most of the pple hooked to the TV (including me...hee...)! Poor JieJie was waiting for a long time and trying to gather pple to play. Ended up, we din play! All left for home at about 11pm, after the "Police Story" ended. Guess it's bec all gotta work the next day...Tired ba...

Overall, it's a good day for me! :)

Lucky Day it is !!!

Managed to go to the the Her World Fabulous Weddings convention today (all thanks to BB who got the email address for me, whom got the registration form from PB). Din wanna go initially as Da-Zi wasn't keen to go at all. However, we went anyway.

Convention started at 11pm, but all of us decided to skip the initial unrelated boring talk, etc, so we arranged to meet at 1pm. End up we met at 1.40pm. Late. Usual. AND, PB and partner arrived even later. Usual as well? *keke*

So, we went for the fashion show, and saw a "ru hua"!!! The show is only so-so... After about an hour of neck-stretching, we went eagerly to "enjoy" our high tea buffet. I was so very hungry then... Alas! There wasn't any tables and chairs for pple to sit down and enjoy the food! So, end up all of us gotta eat while standing. Jack was aiming for the replenishment of the "ha gao" and "siew mai" throughout the meal, and finally just as we were leaving, the waiter top up the long-awaited food. He took all (they topped up a few pcs only) and went happily to our eating corner. But, he was so disappointed when he took the bite... Poor Jack.

Lucky draw was scheduled at 4.15pm, so we took a walk around those "exhibitors" checking for packages before heading back to the ballroom for the anticipated draw. We were all aiming for that 3D 2N Pan Pac Presidential Suite stay, with roof-top dinner and champagne..But, we din get it.

1st prize was Gailia Diamond Necklace worth $5278 by Soo Kee. FD was announcing the winner's number 06... and the last number is also 6... (I'm holding 0676), winner is 06...76!!! We screamed in joy! We are the lucky winner to the 1st prize in the lucky draw! Had not won in any lucky draws, 4Ds, ToTo, whatever before, so I was really very surprised that I won! So happy...

Maybe will consider buying the rest to make it a full set? Hmm... *grinz*

DerOld's Bday

Went to Cafe Del Mar in Sentosa to celebrate DH's bday.
Talking abt it, he simply refuse to speak his mind that he'd really like to go, making us think he is ok to go for a sumptuous crab feast. Well, it's his day, so his wish is our command...(although all plans have been made)

Food was pretty ok, though it's a bit exp considering the portions...

The birthday "boy"

The early evening view and the night view. Nice huh..
(Heard in order to use the "suntanning beds", you gotta make a min. $100 spending/bed)

Btw, forgot to add... as we were walking to Cafe Del Mar, someone used my head as goal post! Head-on man!!! So "lucky" wor... as DH was just walking right beside me and the ball flew past him to hit me! Thought I was going to strike "tou jiang" le, but, no buy leh!!! haahaa....

Since there is nothing much to do today (no govt!!!), and PB has been urging me to update blog... But no inspiration at all, so will just put in this "story"

Study this small story,
Hope that makes a BIG change in YOU (and hopefully me as well)

--------------------
Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see & asked the students
“How much do you think this glass weighs?”
'50gms!' .... '100gms!' .....'125gms'
..the students answered.

“I really don't know unless I weigh it,” said the professor, “but, my question is:
What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?”
'Nothing' …..the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.
'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the student

“You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?”
“Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure!”
….. ventured another student & all the students laughed

“Very good.
But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?”
asked the professor.
'No‘…. Was the answer.

“Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?”
The students were puzzled.
“What should I do now to come out of pain?” asked professor again.
“Put the glass down!” said one of the students

“Exactly!” said the professor.
Life's problems are something like this.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK.
Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache.
Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.
--------------------
It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to ‘PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before You go to sleep.
That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!
